The studio is located in the countryside near Bydgoszcz, in an old sheepfold building, subjected to exceptional acoustic treatment. Our recording studio is conducive to creative work and relaxation. It is surrounded by beautiful hilltops, meadows and fields. Open space, fresh air and low noise pollution favor concentration and sharpen the senses.
In between recording
When you stay with us for a few days, you can relax in the studio between recordings. In the evenings, we will be happy to talk to you about your musical experiences, or we will just leave you alone ;). You can cook meals for the whole team in the kitchen. We have a place to sleep for up to 8 people.
We have a yard behind the studio, a space for a barbecue or a bonfire. People like to simply sleep in the meadow, in the sun or in the shade of trees. We also invite you for walks, strolling in the fields, bike trips, exploring the area along the trail of Curious Kazik

Interview for morenoise.pl

CHAOS: Where is your recording studio located? You called it Cierpienie (Suffering). Where did that name come from?
Karolina: Studio Cierpienie is where Marcel records. It used to be some rehearsal places or an attic of his family home in Smarzykowo. Back then, you had to squeeze through the equipment and lift your legs high to get through. He had 1.5-meter cables, a 4-channel Akai sound card, a few of his own microphones, and a few borrowed ones. It was difficult to capture the sound he wanted for this music in the recording, and it was hard to work like this. He wanted to build a studio, and I went along with him. I'd been hearing about it for a few years. From the attic, we moved into a former sheepfold on the farm. During the pandemic, we did a DIY renovation. Krzysiu Kłos designed an acoustic treatment, which provided amazing results: the sound turbulence in the vaulted ceilings is now turned into a beautiful reverberation.
Marcel: The name first appeared on the back of Próchno's debut album. Bartosz was filling out the credits and asked me what to put in the "recording location" section, and I replied, offhandedly, "I don't know, write Studio Cierpienie." And that's how it stuck with us.
